NUCLEAR ENERGY: KENTUCKY’S NEW COAL?

This Note explores the idea of Kentucky turning to nuclear power for their energy needs. As coal production in the state continues to dwindle, nuclear power provides an alternate source of energy that is low cost and clean. Although there are currently no nuclear power plants in Kentucky, the need for clean and reliable energy should encourage the state to rely on nuclear instead of coal.
